Zumindest können die über einen Zeitraum enthaltenen Daten auf einem neuen Rechner wieder hergestellt werden.

Die Installation eines Keyloggers ist recht einfach – der Adapter, in dem sich der Spion befindet, ist mit der Tastatur und dem Computer zu verbinden. Im Regelfall dauert es nur wenige Sekunden, bis die Spionage erfolgen kann. Der Vorteil des Tastaturspeichers ist, niemand wird den Spionage-Akt sofort erkennen.

Nicht nur die Installation, sondern auch der Erwerb eines Keyloggers geht schnell von der Hand. Im Internet gibt es einige Onlineshops, bei denen der Tastaturspeicher zu kaufen ist. Neben der Qualität zeichnen sich derartige Online Shops auch durch deren Kundenzufriedenheit aus.
